Privacy Policy
This policy explains what happens to information on moneyskills.com today, and how we intend to handle account and product information as the Money Skills platform is built.
This is a Money Skills-specific draft written for an early-stage informational and product website. It reflects how the site works today and how the platform is being designed. It has not been reviewed by counsel, and several sections marked below need business or legal input before this policy is treated as final.
Who this covers
This policy applies to moneyskills.com, operated by Money Skills. It covers this website only. When the Money Skills platform becomes available, account holders will be covered by this policy as updated, and by any additional terms presented at sign-up.
Money Skills is an early-stage company. The platform described on this website is under development and is not yet available. Sections below that describe future behaviour are marked as such, so you can tell what happens now from what is planned.
Information you give us
Today, this website has no accounts, no sign-up, and no forms. The only way to send us information is to email one of the addresses published on the site.
If you email us, we receive whatever you choose to put in that message — typically your name, your email address, and the substance of your question. We use it to answer you and to keep a record of the correspondence. We do not add you to a marketing list because you contacted us.
Technical information
Like almost every website, moneyskills.com is served over the internet, which means our hosting provider automatically receives standard technical information with each request — such as your IP address, the page requested, the time of the request, your browser type and operating system, and the page that referred you.
This information is generated by the act of serving the page. It is used to deliver the site, keep it available, and protect it from abuse. We do not use it to build a profile of you.
Cookies and analytics
As of the date above, moneyskills.com sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.
This will probably change. When we add analytics, or when the platform introduces cookies that are necessary to keep you signed in, we will update this section to say precisely what is in use and why, and we will provide any consent mechanism required where you live before non-essential cookies are set.
Whether Money Skills will use a privacy-preserving analytics product, a conventional one, or none at all is a business decision that has not been made. This section must be rewritten to describe reality before any analytics is installed.
Future account and product information
When the platform launches, using it will involve information you provide directly. Based on the product as currently designed, that is expected to include:
- Account information — name, email address, and authentication credentials.
- Course activity — which courses you have started, where you are in them, and what you have completed.
- Financial information you enter yourself — figures you type into planning tools, such as income, expenses, balances, interest rates, goals and assumptions.
- Plans and goals — the action items, targets and review dates you create.
- Communication preferences — which optional messages you have chosen to receive.
- Account security records — sign-in times, password resets and similar events, kept so that we can secure the account and help you recover it.
Money Skills is being designed so that financial information is entered and maintained by you. Money Skills does not connect to your bank, brokerage, card or other financial accounts, does not import transactions from them, and does not take financial actions on your behalf. If that ever changes, it will be an explicit, opt-in feature and this policy will be updated before it ships.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Sign-in providers
The Money Skills sign-in page shows options to continue with Google, Apple or Microsoft. None of these is connected today. The page is interface design for a feature being built; selecting one does nothing, and no information is sent to any provider.
If we do offer third-party sign-in when accounts launch, it will work the way it normally does: you authenticate with that provider, and the provider tells us a limited set of details — typically your name, email address and an identifier — so that we can create or match your Money Skills account. We would not receive your password for that provider. This section will be rewritten to name the providers actually in use before any of them goes live.
No identity provider has been selected or integrated. The sign-in options currently shown on /login/ are illustrative of the intended feature, not a description of live integrations.
Payments and subscriptions
Money Skills does not currently accept payment. There is no checkout, no cart, no subscription and no stored payment method anywhere on this website. The figures published on our pricing page describe a planned product and are not an offer to sell.
When courses and subscriptions become available, purchases are expected to be handled by a third-party payment processor. In that arrangement your card details would be collected and processed by that provider rather than by us — Money Skills would ordinarily hold only what it needs to service your account, such as which plan you are on, when it renews, and a receipt history. This section will be rewritten with the specifics once a processor is selected and integrated.
No payment processor has been selected or integrated. Nothing about payment handling described above should be treated as final until it has.
We send email for two different reasons, and they are worth separating.
- Transactional and service email — replies to your inquiries, and in future things like account confirmations, username and password recovery, security notices, receipts and important service changes. These are part of providing the service and cannot generally be switched off while you hold an account.
- Optional email — course reminders, goal reminders, plan check-ins, product news. You choose whether to receive these, and every one of them will carry a way to unsubscribe.
Email is sent through a third-party email delivery provider, which processes the message and your email address on our behalf in order to deliver it.
SMS and mobile messaging
Money Skills is being designed to support optional SMS and mobile notifications for people who want them — for example, course reminders, goal reminders, action-plan check-ins, financial task reminders you have asked for, and account or security notices.
Messaging will work on these terms:
- You will provide your mobile number yourself and will need to opt in before any message is sent. You will not be enrolled automatically, and providing a number for one purpose will not enrol you in another.
- You will be able to change or stop messages at any time, in your Money Skills settings or by replying with a standard opt-out keyword such as STOP.
- Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan.
- Mobile numbers collected for messaging will not be sold, and will not be shared with third parties for their marketing.
- Messages are sent through a third-party messaging provider that processes the number and message content on our behalf in order to deliver it.
No part of this website currently collects a phone number, and Money Skills does not send SMS today. This section describes how the capability is being designed.
Final SMS programme terms — message frequency, the exact opt-in language shown at the point of collection, help keywords, and the carrier disclosure wording — need to be settled with the chosen messaging provider and reviewed before any messaging launches.
Service providers
We use third parties to run the business. Today that means website hosting and email — nothing else is connected. As the platform is built it will also include cloud infrastructure, database and storage services, authentication, payment processing, messaging delivery and analytics. We will name the categories in use, and update this policy, as each one is actually adopted.
These providers process information on our instructions in order to provide their service to us. They are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
Security
The website is served over HTTPS. As the platform is developed, we intend to apply the ordinary protections expected of a service that stores personal and financial planning information — encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and separation of production data from development environments.
No system is perfectly secure, and we are not going to claim otherwise. We will describe our security practices more specifically when there is a product to describe them for.
Retention
Email correspondence is kept as long as it is useful for answering you and keeping a reasonable business record. Server logs are retained for a limited period for security and reliability purposes.
When accounts exist, account and product information will be retained while your account is open. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymise the information within a reasonable period, other than anything we are required to keep.
Specific retention periods, and the record-keeping obligations that apply to a financial education business in the jurisdictions Money Skills operates in, need to be determined before this section is final.
Your choices
You can email privacy@moneyskills.com at any time to ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or ask us to stop contacting you. We will respond and act on reasonable requests.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional legal rights over your personal information, including rights of access, correction, deletion, portability and objection.
Whether Money Skills must comply with the CCPA/CPRA, the GDPR, or other state or national privacy regimes depends on where the company is established and who it serves. Those jurisdiction-specific disclosures and rights notices are not written yet and need legal input.
Children
Money Skills is intended for adults. This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email privacy@moneyskills.com and we will delete it.
If Money Skills later offers content intended for teenagers or for classroom use, this section will be revisited before that happens.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy as the platform develops. When we do, we will change the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we handle your information, we will give notice that is appropriate to the change rather than relying on you noticing a new date.

A postal address and the registered legal entity name should appear here once they are confirmed. Both are commonly expected in a privacy policy, and some regimes require them.
